Wild Rock

Rating: ♦♦♦♦♦

I’ve always loved Wild Rock. I loved it when I had the scanlations of it and I love it now that I have a nice bound copy for my bookshelf. Sure it’s sappy, fluffy, completely historically inaccurate, caveman sex; but that’s half the fun of it!

For those of you who don’t know the basic plot-line, it revolves around the sons of warring clans back in prehistoric times where men wore loincloths and thigh-highs, were clean shaven and were drop-dead gorgeous.

The sons meet, angst, fall in love, then unite the clans. Of course, there’s more to it than that, but that’s really what it all boils down to. It’s simple, sweet and very endearing. I like it because it is short, simple and sweet. It’s got a happy ending that leaves a smile on my face. I can’t ask for more from a manga.

BLU did another great job with publishing. I guess this book was supposed to have a full-color insert, but BLU found that it was going to cost too much and the projected sales were not high enough for them to justify including it. I can definitely understand that. I’m sorry it wasn’t included, but I am happy that they were thoughtful enough to let us know WHY it wasn’t included.

I guess this means we’re just going to have to buy lots of BLU manga to make sure that we get all the extras for next time.
