kicking fandom’s ass since 2000

This was your basic, run of the mill, get-together story, but the way it’s told made it completely charming. It’s one of those stories where you’re rooting for the characters to just get together and quit acting like idiots.
Natori isn’t too fond of ‘date parties’ but when his best friend, Takeda, begs him to attend, Natori can’t bring himself to say no. At the party, Natori meets a friend of Takeda’s and they hit it off. Natori and Kisugi spend the rest of the evening together drinking, laughing and having a hell of a good time.
The good time is slightly dampened the next day when Takeda drops the bomb that Kisugi is bisexual and definitely dating males; though Natori shouldn’t have anything to worry about, as Kisugi would never hit on one his friends. Natori doesn’t have a problem with Kisugi’s sexuality, he’s just a bit shocked at how open Kisugi is about it and how Kisugi will answer any and all questions about gay sex that Natori may have. As time goes by and the friendship between Natori and Kisugi grows, Natori begins to want to be more than friends with Kisugi. He’s getting jealous of Kitugi’s boyfriend and of the time he gets to spend with Kisugi.
There is a happy ending at the end of it all, but like with most good stories, it’s a hell of a ride getting there.
The artwork in this release is very nice. I wasn’t familiar with this artist before this book. Her sketchy style quickly won me over. While not as polished as some of the other artists I enjoy, the sketchy style lets her portray incredible amounts of emotion in just a few lines. All in all, it’s a damn good release. Definitely something that’s going into my permanent collection.
