Not So Bad 1
Rating: ♦♦♦
Meet Eunhee. He’s a young, up-and-coming movie star suffering from ennui.
Meet Gain. He’s a young vagrant who’s just looking for a warm place to crash for the night.
Eunhee has a rare moment of compassion when he finds Gain crumpled up outside of his apartment. Eunhee’s compassion extends even further when he offers to let Gain stay with him for a while. Euhnee is more of a loner than a gregarious sort, but there’s something about Gain that pushes him to acts of kindness.
When the nights grow cold, Gain sneaks into Eunhee’s bed to share warmth. Eunhee is really not a fan of sharing his bed, but again, there’s just something about Gain that pushes him to accept him.
And the boys find that they sleep better together than they do apart.
It’s a cute plot. It’s fairly predictable and at times silly, but it’s heartwarming all the same. It’s nice watching the two very cranky boys get under each other’s shells.
The art is something that takes some getting used to. I really enjoyed it, but it’s definitely not something that’s going to be for everyone.
Net Comics has done a great job with the presentation of this series. The only thing I really have a complaint with is how they’re categorizing their Boys Love releases, but I’m not going to go on a terminology rant today. I’m just glad that Net Comics did not succumb to the trend of americanizing their releases. This book is set in Korea and it’s very obvious that it’s set in Korea.
It’s nice and cute and, as it seems to be the trend with this company, not smutty at all. It’s just a nice, sticky-sweet story.
