Heaven Sent 1

Do you hear that faint cheering in the distance? That’s the sound of me fangirling over finally getting this series in print.

So, in the first story we have Tyler. Tyler is the manager of a struggling hotel. As a last ditch effort to save the hotel, he and his business partners (family) throw all of their available cash into opening a night club at the hotel. They manage to book one of the hottest bands in the country, Heaven Sent, to play the opening show at the club. Things are starting to look up for poor Tyler, especially when he meets the lead singer of Heaven Sent, Johnnie Heaven.

Sparks fly immediately between the two, the only problem is that Tyler is straight. Or at least, he thinks he is. It’s awfully hard to reject someone like Johnnie though. All that beauty and talent concentrated on Tyler is a pretty potent drug. Even after succumbing to Johnnie’s whiles, these two don’t have a guaranteed happy ever after, because Tyler just can’t figure out why someone like Johnnie Heaven would have anything to do with him. There is a happy ending in here, but it’s a great ride with the boys waiting to get there.

Next, we have the story of Luc Sloane, the bass player for Heaven Sent. Before the band hit it big, they were pretty popular in the small town they all grew up in. Luc had been dating a local girl and had gotten friendly with the girl’s twin brother, Reese. Reese wasn’t too shattered when Luc broke up with his sister. It just made it easier for Reese to lust after Luc. Saying that Luc didn’t react well to Reese coming on to him would be a bit of an understatement.

Fast-forward six years. The guys in Heaven Sent are back in town and invited to Reese’s sister’s wedding. Luc feels bad for the way he treated Reese in the past and having tried wild-hot-monkey sex with a willing male partner on the road, realizes that he wants to see if what Reese felt for him before can be rekindled.

Problem is that Reese is now firmly back in the closet. Complete with a girlfriend and a job teaching at a conservative private school. He’s got no interest in giving up his quiet, sedate life and, besides, what would Luc Sloane see in someone like him?

Mmmm. Pretty boys angsting. Be still my heart. I think we’ve found a winner.

There is so much pretty and awesomeness contained in this book that I have a hard time picking out one or two things to concentrate on. I’ve got to admit to having a bit of a fascination with rockstar boys, even more so when we have rockstar boys happily humping other boys.

These books were originally released as e-books. While I love my e-books and I think they’re a great way to discover new authors, I do miss being able to take my favorite books to bed with me. These e-books were ones that I would read over and over again. I’m so happy to be able to re-read these stories to my heart’s content from the comfort of my bed instead of being hunched over my computer.

Jet Mykles’ stories are always a treat to read, but this series holds a special place in my heart. This is going to be one of the books that you want to grab when everything is crap in your life and you need something warm, smutty and guaranteed to make you smile.

Now, I just have to try and wait patiently for the other two stories in the series to come out in print form. Run and nab a copy of this for yourself. You will not be sorry.

Again, that high-pitched sound you hear? That’s the sound of me squeeing because I finally have a copy of this, in print, that I can carry around with me. E-books are all well and good, but if you don’t have an e-book reader or a laptop, you can’t take an e-book to bed with you when you’re feeling like crap.

In this release we have the stories of Brent, the reclusive guitarist for Heaven Sent, and Darien, the energetic drummer.

Brent, while being one of the most talented members of the band and pretty much the main musician, suffers from an inferiority complex. That’s not surprising looking at his bandmates. Who wouldn’t feel a bit inferior when put next to Johnny or Luc? What Brent doesn’t realize is that there are people out there who love him for being the unique little snowflake that he is and are going to get him to admit it, no matter what it takes.

Enter a new band member, Hellion, or Hell for short. Hell is a little spitfire, a keyboardist with amazing amounts of talent and an eye for Brent. Eventually, Hell does wear down Brent’s opposition to having a sexual relationship with someone in the band – as long as it stays on Brent’s terms, as just sex, no emotions involved. Of course, Hell wants more than that though, and fireworks are going to explode if this little demon boy doesn’t get his way.

Next up is Darien. Darien never minded that everyone else in the band was settling down with males; it left more girls for him. However, after a failed, whirlwind marriage, Darien starts taking a look at the other side and finds that he likes what he sees. Especially when what he sees is his lawyer, Christopher Faith.

Christopher, a.k.a. Chris, is brilliant, English and has a filthy mouth when he’s not being all important and in lawyer mode. Darien likes the flashes of the person underneath the lawyer mask and pushes his way behind Chris’s shell. Keep in mind, Chris has gone through some heartache with fickle men before and can’t believe that he’s anything more than a fling for Darien – even if Darien has decided that sex with Chris is the best thing since sliced bread.

I love these characters. While Mykles has said that there will not be any more stories about the Heaven Sent guys, there will be more stories set in their universe and that they will make guest appearances. I’m really looking forward to seeing what she’s going to come up with.

I’m thrilled with a lot of the malexmale writers that are working now, but Jet Mykles and her cronies are some of my all-time favorites! Go out and pick this one up. It’s too much fun to not have as part of your collection.
