Because I’m A Boy!

Rating: ♦♦♦♦

I usually don’t like releases that are nothing more than a series of vignettes. I get into the characters and want to spend more than ten to twelve pages with them. That being said, there’s a lot to enjoy in this release. Most of all because it’s filthy. Not so much in what is drawn, though it is pretty graphic, but in the themes it’s exploring.

We’ve got a young man falling for his guardian and breaking down his guardian’s resistance to a physical relationship. There’s a young teacher who finds the school nurse fornicating with students, then finds himself fornicating with the school nurse. Then there’s the young man who’s jealous of the attention that a childhood friend is paying to his twin sister…

That’s not even taking into account the little details that amp up the eroticism. The guardian giving in to sexual want and loosening his tie before going in and screwing his ward senseless, things of that nature. It all comes together to make sure that this release is more than the sum of its parts.

The art does take a little getting used to. I love the exaggerated expressions on the characters faces every time they get mad or something doesn’t seem to go their way. It’s a slightly messy style with a heavy use of screen tone and not my usual style of choice, but by the end of the book, I found myself enjoying it for all of its messy quirkiness.

As always I don’t care for Kitty Media’s production quality, but it’s not as bad in this release as it’s been in some of their others. Maybe they’ve realized that a lot of us are not going to buy crap, even if it does contain two boys humping madly. This release is definitely worth a second look. It’s actually going into my permanent collection instead of being traded away.
