Delivery Cupid

Rating: ♦♦♦♦

I don’t know what it is with stories about angels/cherubs/any heavenly being that sucks me right in, but they all do. I really need to get over my obsession with boys with wings.

The lead story in this anthology revolves around Tsubasa. He’s half-human and half-angel. That being said, he’s got a lot of work to do before he can become a full angel. To gain points to become a full angel he’s doing work as a matchmaking cupid. Being half-human, he’s not too good at his job, but damn, if that boy isn’t determined.

He gets sent on what is supposed to be an easy job, something that even a newbie cupid would be able to handle, yet things don’t go quite as he planned. Turns out that the human that Tsubasa is supposed to shoot with his arrow of love is a perverted sex-shop owner. Once Tsubasa meets the owner, Norimasa, he gets flustered and ends up botching the job. He hits Norimasa alright, but then ends up falling on his own arrow.

Happy-monkey sex ensues. While Tsubasa enjoys having his brains banged out, this has ruined his chance at being an angel and now he’s convinced himself that Norimasa will forget all about him since the arrow’s effect only lasts for one day. Unless, of course, it’s a case of true love. Take a wild guess what happens.

The rest of the stories in the anthology are just as heartwarming. My favorite one was the one that involved the angel of death visiting and falling in love with a boy in a hospital, but is then forced to guide his soul to Heaven. It’s sad, sweet and there are boys with wings. This is all making me a very happy girl.

All in all, this is a really nice release. The only thing I could have asked for was to keep the honorifics in, but it looks like Boysenberry has decided to leave out all the honorifics. It does make it easier to read than some of the Be Beautiful releases where they change them all to mister.

This release is nicely printed and even comes with a full-color insert. I really couldn’t ask for much more in a release. I’m really looking forward to seeing what else they’re going to be bringing over!
