kicking fandom’s ass since 2000

This story was just fun. Not a whole heck of a lot of substance, but a heck of a lot of fun just the same. The story revolves around the company, Yebisu Graphics and a young intern named Haruka Fujinami. The Yebisu Graphics Company is known for its cutting edge designs and the beauty and style of all of its workers. Haruka is stunned when on his first day he ends up in hot water with the head boss, Daijou. Haruka made the big mistake of not wearing a suit to work. Daijou feels that one should always look their best, especially at work.
Over time, Haruka’s diligence starts to win over everyone at the office and Daijou starts to take Haruka under his wing. It’s nice to watch Haruka grow and develop as a person and as a designer as the story progresses. As you could have guessed, Daijou and Haruka end up getting together. Happy hot monkey sex ensues.
It’s very well drawn and very well put together, if lacking slightly in substance, but the thing that really makes me cranky is the same damn thing that makes me cranky about all Be Beautiful releases. Why in the hell can’t they leave in the honorifics? Seriously, every other company has gotten their act together and left the honorifics in their releases; it’s only Be Beautiful that’s holding out and continuing to translate everything.
I’m sure by now my complaints are falling on deaf ears, but it’s enough to make me not want to pick up releases by them because they’re going to butcher the translation like this. Oh well, my bitching aside, it’s a nice release, if you can get past the homogenizing of the language.
